The seasoning recipe was created and tested so that it could be used in a broad variety of recipes. Shrimp and grits, Lowcountry gumbo, Carolina crab cakes, meatloaf, chicken pie and many more are examples. You will notice in our recipe section that Charleston Seasoning Mixes are the only dry spice, other than salt and pepper, you will have to add. When frying, we recommend following our recipes the first time using it. The frying recipes have some cornstarch in them to create that crispy crunch on shrimp, fish, chicken and more! The recipes are kitchen tested and work with Charleston Seasoning Mix products in a way that insures they are not only delicious, but easy to prepare! Charleston Seasoning Mix's Savory Seasoned Flour is a blend of flour and our Signature House Seasoning. It combines the convenience of being a pre-mixed product with impressive versatility. Signature House Seasoning is gluten free and can be used in place of Savory Seasoned Flour by mixing it with a gluten free flour, all-purpose flour or an alternative type of flour. In our recipes, substitute 1/4 Tsp of Signature House Seasoning mixed with 1 Tbsp of flour of your choice to equal 1 Tbsp of Savory Seasoned Flour. Make it a heaping 1/4 Tsp if you want more spice!
